After bigger than 63 years, Deutsche Put up has stopped carrying letters by plane to carve charges and within the bargain of its carbon footprint, and the closing plane took off from Berlin shortly after dull night and flew to Stuttgart.

Amongst the closing flights, the early hours of March 28 noticed the closing overnight flights by Eurowings and Tui Hover transporting letters to and from northern and southern Germany on the routes Stuttgart-Berlin, Hanover-Munich and Hanover-Stuttgart.

Marc Hitschfeld, Chief Operations Officer of DHL Neighborhood’s Put up & Parcel Germany division : “We close the generation of overnight letter airmail with blended emotions.
“In times of climate alternate, airmail for domestic letters inner Germany can no longer be justified – furthermore because there could be not any longer the same urgency linked to letter mail as in an extended time previous.
